Welcome to our Wildlife Garden

Over the past year or so we have been creating a wildlife garden on a half acre site at the edge of the allotment adjacent to the local school.  Bee orchids were found on the site a few years ago, so it was immediately designated a wildlife area.

After several years of struggling to keep down the brambles the Committee applied for an Awards for All Lottery Grant.  We were successful and In December 2006 received the money and - with the help of volunteers - started work creating a wildlife garden.

Choose from the links on the left to see the work we have done to create a wildlife pond, plant a native hedge and create various wildlife habitats.

And, if you are interested in helping with some of the work in the garden please contact the Committee - we're around at the weekend and on most weekdays or email us on committee@dorsetroadallotments.org.uk
