A foggy day in allotment town

People Profile...Introducing..Felicity or Flick as she prefers to becalled. You may recognise Flick from her Plot to Pot recipes elsewhere in these pages.

Flick was born in Sydney and arrived at these shores from down-under six years ago to marry her husband Mike. The two of them joined us here at Dorset Road in the Autumn of last year. Flick and Mick being keen and prolific gardeners have all but run out of space in their small garden at home and are delighted to have the opportunity to cultivate and nurture on a grander scale.

It is not only the cooking pot where Flick’s produce is destined, once the harvest is safely gathered in, it finds its way into various jars and containers.  Vessels which will contain jams, chutneys and pickles of all textures and flavours.

When younger it was Flick who would invariably prepare the family meals, 'as Mum wasn't the best of cooks' and instead of spawning aversion to all things culinary had the opposite effect of maturing Flick into a very able amoureux de la cuisine. (Excuse my French, I blame Google!)

Flick is currently involved with a project hoping to produce a joint (Borough) allotment recipe book to raise funds for allotments and local charities - as well as finding time to write Plot to Pot JE
